10 Random Facts About Me :)
1. I really don't have a favorite book - why choose one among thousands?

2. I cry over books - shame. Because of you knew me... really knew me... you won't expect that I'd waste my thespian skills over the pages of the books.

3. Kindle is my new best friend: next to caffeine. I always bring it with me when I go out and open it up when situation stands for it. So far, it works well and I hope it stays that way until I can afford to buy a new one.

Despite the fact that I have a new tablet and android phone - nothing beats my Kindle Touch. It's the next best thing to tangible books.

4. My form of exercise besides lifting spoon & forks: pushing gurneys & yes, it's hard to work especially when I need to pass on several ramps before I reach the wards.

5. I get kilig over:

  • Text message (petty)
  • A call out of nowhere (still petty)
  • A follow on twitter by my favorite author (so not petty)
  • A reply on my tweet (very petty)
  • An ARC copy of a book I very much wanted to read (oh, so very petty)
I smile over simple things and my happiness comes in small packages, It doesn't need a big gesture (although it's very much appreciated) for me to feel ecstatic.

6. If I wasn't a nurse, I'd be a...
a. doctor
b. lawyer
c. writer
d. a customer service rep
e. traveler

Don't get me wrong, no matter how tiring and underpaid our profession is, nothing beats:
  •  hearing a baby's first cry
  • extubating a baby or a child because he can manage to breathe on his/her own
  • A thank you/smile from a patient
  • seeing the lines of the ECG tracing finally took a spike after the straight line scared the hell out of you - but you can't really show you are panicking inside
  • a stable patient after several days of being in critical condition
  • an empty ward: WINNER!
a little confession: despite being in this profession for several years: I still get a shiver when I assist some doctors in some operations.

7. I forgot titles & authors.

I have read a thousand of books since grade school: am I bound to remember it all?
Either: (1) they really are great books and I have recommended them to my friends, (2) I get to read the blurb again

8. Caffeine: need, want, necessity
For the record, I'm not one of those people who gets cranky when they can't have their usual early morning dose of caffeine. I just need to have at least a cup of coffee or a class of coke to make my day complete.

9. I'd rather stay at home, curl up and read during days off
It's inexpensive, I don't get tired, I don't catch any bacteria and it's therapeutic. But since I don't have much of a choice lately, I do this as much as I can possibly can.

10. I don't know how to ride a bike - I know I am missing a quarter of my life - but does my swimming lesson makes up for it? :) I desperately wanted how to learn, but I have no time, no tutor and no bike of my own.
